PIA-THERM PANELS

Are a structural, insulated and reinforced – high performance material, in one integrated panel for cost-effective, prefabricated building solutions. PIA-THERM panels are used in the construction of walls, floors and roofs for single or multiple storey – residential and commercial structures.

For the United States and Gulf areas as well as in the Caribbean and Mexico – PIA-THERM panel homes withstand hurricane force wind loads of 226mph (360km/h). The two story panel-constructed research complex in California – which is in excess of 24 ft (7.5m) high, has withstood 2 of California’s worst earthquakes in 40 years with no structural defect or damage.

CONSTRUCTED IN THREE PHASES

STAGE 1
THE TRUSS STRUCTURE

A continuous wire fabrication is manufactured to create a truss structure ensuring exceptional strength – 2.5 times stronger per cubic foot than conventional construction.

STAGE 2
THE FINISHED PANEL

Expanded polystyrene panels are integrated into the wire fabrication, giving exceptional insulation.

STAGE 3
THE RENDER

(APPLIED ON SITE)

Normal sand and cement render is then applied to the inner and outer surfaces.

THE CONSTRUCTION PROCESS

Solid foundations are required for the construction process.

Rebar positioning in the foundations correctly aligns and anchors the wall sections to the foundations.

All erected walls require to be square and plumb to one another.

Mesh reinforcement of the panel connections, doors and windows are required throughout.

Panels are used in all aspects of the building including roofs and walls.

Both complex and simple structures benefit from architectural design flexibility, as well as superb strength and load characteristics.

Cement render can be applied with a spray gun or by hand after the doors, windows, reinforcement mesh, electrics, and plumbing – have been installed.

To fit cabling and pipework, simply cut the wire mesh for the junction boxes only and then using a torch, melt the polystyrene away.

Once the building shell has been constructed, any finish may be applied. However the most simple and cost effective finish is to use a cement render and paint.

The panels versatility applies to walls and fencing – creating a suitable, private & extremely secure, protective environment with excellent noise-reducing, barrier qualities.
